The Tenants’ Union  Tenancy Fact sheets provide information about common tenancy issues affecting tenants and residents in Queensland.

Renting in Queensland - a quick overview of the rules for renting in Queensland, including starting during and ending tenancies, tips on resolving disputes and who is covered by the Act.

Starting a Tenancy – covers tenancy applications, deposits, tenancy agreements, entry condition reports and payment of bond and rent in advance.

Rent and Other Charges - includes tenant liability for rent and service charges, rent receipts and records, rent arrears and solving disputes over rent or other payments.

Rental Bonds – covers bond payments and receipts, obligations to lodge bonds with the RTA, bond refunds and resolving bond refund disputes.

The Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 is the legislation that covers tenancies in Queensland including general tenancies and rooming accommodation tenancies.
